Welcome to October and the beginning of the 4th quarter, the year’s stretch- run to the finish line. Despite the country’s recent financial debacle and concern about the upcoming election, what kind of year has it been for you?

Remember, while we don’t live in a bubble, we have the ability to attract to ourselves the positive abundance that we seek. Our feelings which create our thoughts create our choices, and they are tantamount to our reality. The memory of yesterday no longer serves you. Today is not a continuation of yesterday. When you awaken every morning, you are reborn to a new reality that you create by your thoughts. Everyday you have the chance to make a fresh start. As you view current events ask yourself this question: Are you affected by the world around you or are you affecting the world? It’s all about your perspective. Are you following your plan? What is your plan? Awaken every morning and see your day unfolding exactly as you want it. What a difference you will see for the rest of the year. We wish you an incredible 4th quarter.

The Sky in October - Almanac

The Sun moves into Scorpio on Wednesday October 22nd @ 5:57pm PDT. The Full Moon is Tuesday the 14th @ 1:03 pm PDT. The New Moon is Tuesday the 29th @ 4:13 pm PDT. We revert to Standard Time on Sunday November 2nd.

The Planets:
Uranus and Neptune remain retrograde while Mercury turns direct on Wednesday the 15th @ 1:06pm PDT. Mercury retrograde gets so much bad press. Transiting Mercury in your chart really has no hard aspects. Last Month I shared a personal story about Mercury retrograde going awry. Mercury retrograde has some positive attributes such as communication from the past. In other words, clients contact you that you have not heard from for months or years.

The Mercury Retrograde as Carmic Relief: Audrey and I are born with Mercury in retrograde motion. Last year we bought two cars on the same day in Mercury retrograde. When you are a natal retrograder you can create buyer’s remorse for the other party. Upon selecting a car for Audrey and completing a lengthy negotiation we had to drive to another lot to find my car. When we tried to start Audrey’s new car the battery was dead. The salesman immediately offered a new battery; no problem. For us it was a bad omen. We returned to the sales-manager and declined the car due to our belief systems. He understood due to similar beliefs and gave Audrey a newer car with more options at the price of the original one! My car, a brand new one was just fine. I do not condone this behavior but it can be done- obviously. As the adage goes, you have to call your shots.

It is a fortunate turn of events that the recent national budgetary debacle occurred during Mercury retrograde or we would be facing more serious financial issues for a long time to come. During a Libra Mercury retrograde, negotiations, contracts and legal matters can be especially difficult. Marriages can be challenged also. One other aspect that can come to light when Mercury is retrograde in Libra is it can reveal people who pretend to be, but are not your allies.
